artist statement

My artwork is a way for me to tell my story.

My creations are the chapters of my memories and feelings, of visual and verbal impacts that I have experienced and of course, my imagination tends to play an important part.

Pages are created through the use of commercial or hand-dyed fabrics, batiks, tulles, sheers, cheesecloth and netting. Dyes, inks and paints are included usually in the detailing along with hand or machine stitching, embroidery, needle and wet felting. The use of paper, metals, beads and found ephemera are often found in my art.

Although my artistic endeavours are extensions of self, I am pleased if they speak to others in that they may recognize their own story in my creations.
